NAVA Gamer's Gathering, September 24: "50 Years of Gaming"

NAVA = North Atlantic Videogame Aficionados. This is a FREE event bringing gamers together for competition, trading, and chatter.
Previously at NAVA...
- We featured a selection of the unsung losers of videogames’ past, including the Sega Saturn, Atari Jaguar, Vectrex, and 3DO.
- Gamers, collectors and friends shared their recent adventures and sold or traded their goods.
- An attendee went the distance in our I Robot arcade challenge to win the $20 gift certificate.

In This Month’s NAVA: We’ll be celebrating a very special birthday! In September 1972, Magnavox released their first Odyssey system, becoming the first home videogame console ever released, and kickstarted the first generation. In the following years, it would be joined by many, many “Pong Clones”, which would all be variations of Ralph Baer’s original tennis game that made its debut on Odyssey. So on the 50th anniversary of home console gaming, we’ll be shining a spotlight on a true unsung era of videogames. We’ll have a rare Odyssey console displayed and playable for all attendees, along with a few other of Magnavox’s first and second gen offerings. So join us for the birthday party and grab yourself a slice of PONG cake!

Arcade Challenge: We’re kicking it old school with our arcade challenge this month, with a tournament of the highest skill: PONG! Only the strongest will survive to win our coveted $20 gift certificate prize, so grab your paddle and join the gauntlet of a lifetime!

Remember, feel free to bring a box or two of your trade goodies. We'll help you administer sales and get you set up somewhere in the store to sell your goods. NAVA is a time for trading!
