NAVA = North Atlantic Videogame Aficionados. This is a FREE event bringing gamers together for competition, trading, and chatter.
Previously at NAVA...
- In our last episode, we heralded the next generation of SWITCH. Mainly by featuring games with switches in them. Also knobs, dials and levers.
- The arcade challenge was Mouse Trap and Aaron T won with a score of 117,440, taking a $20 gift certificate for his prize.
- Our SWITCH tournament (featuring Bejeweled on both a console and handheld) was won by Brooke, who will now go into the history books as the very first SWITCH champion and greatest SWITCH player in the world.
- Games and systems traded hands between attendees who brought their own trade boxes.

In This Month's NAVA: 2017 marks the 23rd Annual Digital Press 3DO Invitational. And YOU are hereby cordially invited to attend and compete. Whether you are a veteran "Captain Quazar" player or a casual "Crash 'n Burn"er, we've got a lineup of classic 3DO games that will surely bring a nostalgic tear to your eye. Remember all of those days in grandma's basement playing "Way of The Warrior"? Or that time between 4th and 5th grade when you stayed indoors all summer to master the final board of "PaTaank"? Who could forget the devil-may-care days of "Robinson's Requiem"? Re-live those great memories of your childhood, and make some new ones with the rest of the world's greatest 3DO players, who have also been invited to this exclusive event.
The musical ambience is typically 80's themed in the store, but for the entire day, you will be regaled with the randomly generated classical musings of Sid Meier's CPU Bach. Classy music for this exceptionally classy list of attendees.
Arcade challenge! Few 3DO games were featured in arcades mainly because the 3DO platform was far superior to every other possible gaming platform in the universe. SNK did manage to eek out a little gem called Puzzle Bobble, which 3DO gamers know more properly as Bust-A-Move. We'll play this one on the store's Neo Geo cabinet. Be the best at the game on this one day by logging the highest score on our arcade cabinet by 9pm and win a nifty $20 gift certificate and possibly get your name added to the "House Champion" tournament plaque on the Wall of Fame just above the arcade section of the store. Arcade challenge games are set to FREE PLAY all day, but please remember to let everyone get a shot. If you get the high score, move on, and no hogging the cabinet! Also if you have won last month’s NAVA arcade challenge you are no eligible to win this month’s challenge.
Tournament! Of the many classic 3DO titles (most of the library appears on top ten lists worldwide) we have chosen Star Control II as the invitational centerpiece for this, the 23rd Annual Digital Press 3DO Invitational. Long before "Smash Bros Melee" there was "Star Control II Super Melee". Assemble your team of ships and blast the bejeezus out of your opponent. Are you the world's greatest 3DO player? Let's find out. Sign-ups begin at 3pm, the tournament starts around 6pm and its first-come, first-served in this FREE-to-join tournament.
Remember to get your trade boxes in order so we can all buy, sell and trade together. Wear your NAVA or Digital Press t-shirt for the maximum discount on store purchases. Also, bring your Nintendo 3DS to share street passes... it's NAVA time!
