Previously at NAVA...
- In our last episode since we all couldn’t go to TooManyGames in Philly we had our own con; NotEnoughGames Expo!
- There were games to play, passes to wear, & tournaments to win.
- Our tournament was Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo 64 & Kyle Smyth won & took home the TooManyGames 3-day pass.
- The arcade challenge was Twinkle Star Sprites & Brian C. won with 930,660 points, & walked away with a $20 gift certificate as his prize.
- Games & systems traded hands between attendees who brought their own trade boxes.

See it all in our photo gallery section at the store's website & feel free to comment!

This Month's NAVA: During our NotEnoughGames expo a special someone celebrated their 25th birthday; everyone’s favorite spiny blue mammal Sonic the Hedgehog. Don’t worry we didn’t forget that’s why this month’s NAVA is going to be themed around the blue blur! This NAVA idea was suggested by Alonso T. We’ll be playing some of Sonic’s best games like Dr. Robotnick’s Mean Bean Machine, Sonic 3, & Sonic Adventure 2, along with a few of his not so great titles like Sonic R, Sonic the Fighters, & SegaSonic the Hedgehog.

Arcade challenge! For Big Blue’s birthday we’ll be playing SegaSonic the Hedgehog for this NAVA’s arcade challenge. This was one of the few Sonic games to only be released in arcades, & never get a home console port. You can play as Sonic the Hedgehog, Mighty the Armadillo, or Ray the Flying Squirrel; who never appeared in any other Sonic game after this one. The way you control the characters in game is with the trackball. You must guide our furry friends through the isometric courses dodging obstacles & often running away from some sort of hazard. This game does have unlimited continues & does not reset your score when you game over so please be fair to everyone else & when you game over don’t put in another free credit & continue, let someone else play. Be the best at the game on this one day by logging the highest score on our arcade cabinet by 9pm & win a nifty $20 gift certificate & possibly get your name added to the "House Champion" tournament plaque on the Wall of Fame just above the arcade section of the store. Arcade challenge games are set to FREE PLAY all day, but please remember to let everyone get a shot. If you get the high score, move on, & no hogging the cabinet! Also if you have won last month’s NAVA arcade challenge you are no eligible to win this month’s challenge.

Tournament! This month’s tournament will be Sonic the Fighters, an arcade fighting game featuring the Fastest Thing Alive & his friends. We’ll be playing the port on the GameCube on the Sonic Gems Collection. Sign-ups begin at 3pm, the tournament starts around 6pm & its first-come, first-served in this FREE-to-join tournament.

Keep in mind from now on trade boxes cannot take up more than 5 square feet. To clarify 5 square feet is an area that is 5 feet by 1 foot, 2 & a half feet by 2 feet, or any other way that takes up that much space. Trade boxes can be more than one box; they just need to fit in that much space. We will make exceptions for those who bring art or homebrews. If you bring something you made yourself we will not prevent you from putting out both that & an appropriately sized trade box. We will also make exceptions if you have items that themselves are large, like boxed systems or special editions to certain games. If you brought a CIB Steel Battalion we’re not going to make you pack up half of your other items in your trade box. We will ask you to pack up some things if you bring a lot of large items. We cannot have such large trade boxes anymore because it’s a fire hazard.

Remember to get your trade boxes in order so we can all buy, sell & trade together. Wear your NAVA or Digital Press t-shirt for the maximum discount on store purchases. Also, bring your Nintendo 3DS to share street passes... it's NAVA time!
