Super Smash Bros. for WiiU Tournament, June 19th: Friday Night Fisticuffs

Digital Press Videogames presents the return of Friday Night Fisticuffs! We're bringing back our monthly tournaments held every third Friday of every month, that’s usually the week before our other monthly event NAVA. What better game to kick off our return to tournaments than a Smash Brothers game, so we’re having a Super Smash Brothers for WiiU tournament. There will be a normal smash tournament and registration will open the day of the tournament; June 19th at 6PM and the tournament begins at 8PM, the rules of the tournament will be explained below and entry will be five dollars. The top three players will receive cash prizes, based on the size of the total amount of entries. Also mid-way through the tournament we will have a free to enter Amiibo tournament! Rules of which will be explained below as well. There will also be casual games set up as well for spectators to play, contestants to play between matches or while they wait for the tournament to begin.

When: Friday June 19th 8PM
Registration: Main Tournament entry fee is $5 and registration must be done the day of after 6PM, the Amiibo tournament is free but also must be done the day of after 6PM.
Tournament Prizes: The top three players of the Super Smash Bros. for WiiU Tournament will receive cash prizes based on the total amount of entries. The winner of the Amiibo tournament’s prize will be announced at a later date. The winners of both the Amiibo Tournament and the Smash tournament will get their names added to our Wall of Fame!

Rules for the Super Smash Bros. for WiiU Tournament:
-Registration will begin June 19th at 6PM and the tournament will begin at 8PM. There will be no pre-registration on any day before the day of the tournament, June 19th.
-There will be a $5 entry fee.
-Top three winners will receive cash prizes based on the amount of entries.
-All Omega stages will be unlocked as well as all characters, including Mewtwo and Lucas.
-Double Elimination
-Random Omega Maps
-1 Vs 1
-4 stock, 6 minute time limit, items off, equipment off, winner of 2 out of 3 matches moves on.
-Random Omega Stages
-No Amiibos in main Smash tournament
-Mii fighters and Custom move sets are banned
-Banned controllers are: WiiU Gamepad, and all incarnations of the Nintendo 3DS, all other controllers are allowed and will be made available upon request.
-Gamecube adapters will be available as well.
-You may bring your own controller aside from the previously mentioned banned ones; they must be inspected by a judge before the match begins. All controllers with any sort of hardware assisted mechanism such as rapid fire or input entry are banned.
-Accidently pausing the game at any time during the fight may force you to forfeit the round, based on judge’s discretion.

Amiibo Tournament Rules:
-Amiibo Tournament is free to enter
-Amiibos can be entered any time between 6PM and the start of the actual Amiibo Tournament.
-Amiibo Tournament will be held mid way through the main Smash Tournament.
-Prize for Amiibo Tournament will be announced at a later date.
-Amiibos must be entered at the counter to a staff member, who will take your name and your Amiibo and put them safe inside one of our glass display cases prior to the Amiibo tournament.

-4 stock, 6 minute time limit, items off, equipment off, winner of first match moves on.
