NAVA Gamer's Gathering, May 26th: "Party Like It's 1979"

NAVA = North Atlantic Videogame Aficionados. This is a FREE event bringing gamers together for competition, trading, and chatter.

Previously at NAVA...
- In April, we sported a jungle theme. There were many banana-flavored treats as well as jungle-flavored games.
- Montezuma's Revenge game designer Robert Jaeger  was on hand to share stories, sign autographs and show off the new Montezuma IOS app.
- The arcade challenge was on our dedicated Donkey Kong 3 machine. Big Sal took the prize with a score near 280k.
- Super Monkey Ball "Monkey Target" was the tournament game hosted by newly appointed director of Marketing Patty.
- Games and systems traded hands between attendees who brought their own trade boxes.

Pictures tell it best:

This month! We are going especially old-school this month. It's the 33rd anniversary of May 26th, 1979 and to celebrate, we will observe the legacy of the ancients. All of the systems out for play will have been available on May 26th, 1979, including the Magnavox Odyssey2, Bally Professional Arcade, and Atari Video Computer System. Revel in the low-tech graphics of the era! And maybe discover that there are so many games that are just as fun to play 33 years later.

Arcade challenge! Midway's "Space Invaders" was the very first arcade game to keep track of high scores, and we do not have a house champion for this game. Let's change that! Be the best at the game on this one day by logging the highest score on our arcade cabinet by 8pm and win a nifty $20 gift certificate and possibly get your name added to the "House Champion" tournament plaque on the Wall of Fame just above the arcade section of the store. Arcade challenge games are set to FREE PLAY all day. Get your practicing in now!

Remember to get your trade boxes in order and wear your NAVA t-shirt (or get one) for the maximum discount on store purchases... it's NAVA time!
