NAVA Gamer's Gathering December 26th: "Star Wars Holiday Special"
With the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens this month we decided to change our usual holiday NAVA into a Star Wars Holiday Special NAVA! Instead of our usual snow or gift related games this season we played Pod Racers for the 64, Battlefront 2, and Masters of Tera Kasi. We also marathoned all 6 Star Wars movies in our internet café with an intermission between trilogies during the gift grab of the infamous Star Wars Holiday Special. The arcade challenge was Star Wars and while many tried to dethrone him throughout the night; Frankie V. went the whole night undefeated with 881,491 points. We had our annual “Gift Grab” with the new “screening” method where we turned down any gifts we decided were “unacceptable” so this year everyone got something they could enjoy. We played a little prank on Frank “the Tank” this year. For those who don’t know, Frank has gotten arguably the worst gifts every year at this event like; scratched games, old VHS tapes and DVD that no one would ever watch. Well this year we set Frank up with what we told him was “the greatest gift of them all” and when he opened it he was shocked to find; half a Sega Game Gear, A broken taped up Game Boy, 5 copies of Sports Challenge for PS3, 5 copies of Kinect Adventures for 360, a broken PS1 covered in globs of unknown substance, random bargain bin strategy guides, and a crushed soda can. We all had a good laugh and then we gave Frank his real gift, a Bliss Box USB adapter which allows you to hook up almost any controller imaginable to a PC. Hope everyone had a great Life Day and we’ll see you next year.
